❤ my ship is banned, can include it for a poly ship? ❤

absolutely. no poly ships are banned at the moment for this event.

❤ what is this event about? ❤

the AOT rare pair week is an event dedicated to supporting less popular ships in the fandom. it is a chance to show love for the ships that usually aren’t celebrated, and to create content for the pairings that have little to no content.if you feel like you’re the only one who ships your pair, this is your chance to find someone who ships it too or convince other people to ship your pair as well!

❤ how does this work? ❤

for the week of february 12 - 18, there will be a set of prompts that will be featured every day which you can use as your inspiration in your fanarts, fanfics, edits, or other kinds of fan content for a ship of your choice! you can post your work during the prompt’s day.

❤ what are you allowed to post for this event? ❤

you can create and share anything you like, as long as it follows our rules! you can write, draw, make edits, sing a ballad, make a playlist, cosplay, post headcanons or anything you can think of! you can also post as many things per day as you want, and for as many different ships as you want.

❤ what ships are allowed? ❤

ships considered “rare pairs” are allowed in both platonic and romantic settings. if your pairing has less than 400 fics on AO3, it qualifies as a rare pair for this event. however ships on our banlist will not be retweeted.

❤ are canon ships allowed? ❤

being canon doesn’t automatically disqualify a pairing. a canon ship with a very small to nonexistent fanbase and next to no content is still a rare pair.

❤ are crack ships allowed? ❤

we can’t and won’t tell you how to ship your ships, so even if you just like two characters together because it seems hilarious, your ship is valid and allowed for this event.

❤ are OC ships allowed? ❤

we’re sorry, but no. we’d like to keep this event limited to the characters we all know and love. don’t let that stop you from making content for your ship anyway though, more content is always a great thing!

❤ are underage ships allowed? ❤

yes, we will accept sfw works for ships involving underaged characters. for nsfw works, please make sure that both characters in your ship are 18+.

❤ what if a ship is popular as a side pairing? ❤

if a ship is often used as a side pairing but has little to no content that focuses on it (popular pair-the-spares ships), it qualifies as a rare pair.

❤ are poly ships allowed? ❤

yes, we will also celebrate all non-monogamous AOT relationships! as such, we do request that your works focus on some form of consensual non-monogamy involving three or more people. infidelity fic is not counted for these purposes, nor is fic where a character is in a relationship with two other characters at separate times.poly ships can be queerplatonic and/or nonromantic! just, please try to stick to the spirit of poly positivity.

❤ is incest allowed? ❤

we understand fiction is fiction but incestual ships are not allowed for this event.

❤ tips on how we could fully enjoy the event: ❤

we will not tolerate hate against any ships or characters. due to the nature of this event, there will be content for a lot of different ships, some of which you may dislike and some of which you may disagree on based on your personal definition of "rare". Please don’t openly attack those ships, or worse, the shippers.please tag common triggers and put appropriate warnings where they’re needed. this event is supposed to be fun, and being able to blacklist uncomfortable topics is an important part of that.likewise, please don’t attack people for the content they produce, especially if they tag everything correctly.and lastly, don’t forget to have fun!
